CNN's Money Magazine in late 2005 ranked Bainbridge Island #2
in its survey of most desireable places to live in the U.S..
This particular survey seemed to understand what Bainbridge residents
have known for awhile - the best place to live is a first class
bedroom community to the first class City of Seattle.
Bainbridge is itself a beautiful, rural, wooded island with
great public schools, abundant recreation and a small town way
of life that's to be admired. And it's as close as you can be
to Seattle while still having Puget Sound in between as a buffer.
Sports, jobs, arts, education, entertainment - Seattle has it
all and it's a 35 minute ferry ride away.
But there's more. Bainbridge is just a short hop across Agate
Pass bridge to the entire Kitsap Peninsula, Hood Canal and the
majestic Olympic Peninsula beyond. Plus there are plenty of home
grown activities with beaches, bays, marinas, parks, hiking,
biking, kayaking and shopping. Most importantly, the people of
Bainbridge are some of the nicest you'll find anywhere, and they
love their island home.
