Island Events to Create a Memorable Summer
The days are long, the weather is warm, and Bainbridge Island is at its best with beautiful seasonal flowers blooming and plenty of fun community events on the horizon. It’s the loveliest time of year in the PNW, with residents spending more time out and about to soak in the gorgeous sunshine and infectious cheerful energy on the island. We’re digging into some of the best events this summer, from a classic car show to the ever-popular First Friday Art Walk, we’ll give you all the details on our favorite upcoming must-visits. Bainbridge Island Car Show
Calling all classic car lovers to the Bainbridge Island Car Show. Peruse some beautiful automobiles or even put your own display on the last Tuesday evening of every month from now through August. In addition to the fun opportunity to check out some retro rides, the event also supports Project Backpack, a Helpline House program that provides school supplies, clothes, and funds to cover schooling fees to students in need on Bainbridge Island. So, enjoy the show, donate to a wonderful cause, and chow down on a hamburger or hotdog!
Trail Work Party
We’re so lucky to have some of the most scenic trails in the region on our island, so it’s important that we take care of the natural beauty that surrounds us. Give back to the earth that gives us so much while ensuring that our trails stay maintained. Get your hands dirty and volunteer two hours of your time to the Metro Park and Recreation District’s monthly work parties, perfect for the whole family (although they do recommend only bringing children who are eight or over).
Summer Art Market
From now until July 30, every Sunday the Summer Art Market is celebrating our incredible local artists and musicians with live music and booths featuring amazing artwork for sale. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our local artists and learn more about what they’re creating as you check out their booths in the plaza outside of the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
First Friday Art Walk
Watch Winslow come alive as shops, galleries, restaurants, and museums all participate in downtown’s First Friday Art Walk each month. Wander in and out of bustling stores where owners, artists, and patrons all come together to participate in the bustling festivities of the evening. This monthly event is an incredible way to get out into the community and meet friends, both old and new, and see our charming downtown area really come to life.
Moonlight Market
Experience the Moonlight Market, a fun pop-up held during the First Friday Art Walk. Hit two fabulous events at once! Live music, craft food, and dozens of booths offering vintage apparel, stylish home décor, and wellness products await your arrival, promising an eventful evening that reminds us of why the island is so special.
